The new company took over the facilities, including the production sites of Awami Autos Limited. In January 1984, PSMCL began its commercial activities with the priority of passenger cars, vans, vans and 4x4s. domestic automotive market. In 2009, Suzuki`s sales decreased by 48.5%, after a 17% drop in sales in 2008.  Suzuki did not import 2010 motorcycles into the United States, while dealers relied instead on unsold stocks from the 2009 model year.   New models of motorcycles to the United States were picked up for the 2011 model year.  Suzuki began making motorcycles in 1952, the first models were motorized bikes.  From 1955 to 1976, the company manufactured motorcycles only with two-stroke engines, the largest two-stroke model being the water-cooled G2F5 tricylindre. Despite the success of his looms, Suzuki believed that his company would benefit from diversification, and he began to look at other products. Due to consumer demand, he decided that building a small car would be the most convenient new business. The project began in 1937, and within two years Suzuki completed several compact prototypes.
These first Suzuki vehicles were powered by an innovative, four-stroke engine that was cooled by fluids. It had a cast-aluminum casing and gearbox and produced 13 hp (9.7 kW) from a capacity of less than 800cc. Even after the first car was produced in 1955, the company did not have an automotive branch until 1961. Today, Suzuki is one of the world`s largest automakers and is an important brand name in important markets such as Japan and India, but no longer sells cars in North America.  Suzuki Motorcycle India, Private Limited (SMIL) is Suzuki`s 100% Indian subsidiary in Japan. The company has a production site in Gurgaon, Haryana with an annual capacity of 5,40,000 units The samurai was also introduced in 1985 for the 1986 model year and was the first car introduced to the United States by newly created American Suzuki Corp.
